A whistling noise in the chest during breathing when the airways are narrowed or compressed. 
Some of the common causes of wheezing are pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, heart failure, viral infections, smoking (both active or passive), emphysema, bronchiolitis, gastro oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), bronchiectasis, allergic reactions, and side effects of different medications.



Taking hot water mixed with honey daily will help you to get rid of wheezing. 
Mix turmeric in hot milk and take twice daily.
When there is phlegm accumulation in the chest, inhalation of steam is good.
Garlic is taken in a glass of water and the water is heated on a moderate flame for few minutes and then that water can be taken daily to avoid wheezing.
Avoid cold water, ice creams and cold articles.
Mustard oil mixed with jaggery can also be taken for wheezing.

Good balanced diet should be taken.
Take 1 betel leaf and 5 - 6 basil leaves (Tulasi) boil it in half glass of water for 5 min. Strain the water and to the remaining part add 1 teaspoon of honey and should be taken everyday once.
Saline nasal drops 1 - 2 drops for children every two hours.
One fourth spoon of onion juice one sixteenth part of pepper powder with one spoon of honey relieves wheezing.
The chest region can be massaged with mustard oil as it has a good healing property.
Mustard tea with honey can be taken.
Athimadhuram ( Yastimadhu Botanical name:Glycyzrrhiza glabra, English: Liquorice, Hindi: Mulhati) powder can be mixed in tea or milk or water can be taken .
People suffering from chronic wheezing problem can try out with goarka the extract of gomutra. One cup of water with two spoons of goarka and one spoon of honey daily once.
Sitopaladi churna with honey can be taken daily twice.
Chewing basil leaves( Tulasi) daily will also help to get rid of Wheezing, Asthma and other respiratory problems.
Triphala powder with luke warm water also help in wheezing.


The patient should avoid foods which tend to produce phlegm, such as rice, sugar, lentils, and curd. Patient should also avoid fried and other difficult to-digest foods, strong tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages and condiments pickles . 
People suffering from wheezing can follow any of the above remedies depending on the availability of the raw materials and their convenience. Wheezing problems can be life-threatening. Immediate medical attention is required whenever a person 
Turns blue or grey and stops breathing. 
Becomes extremely short of breath, and is unable to speak 
Coughs up bubbly pink or white phlegm 
Seems to be suffocating 
Develops a fever of 101o F or higher 
Wheezes most of the time, and coughs up grey or greenish phlegm.
